I’m excited to invite you to our Third Thursday Mixer on Thursday, April 16, from 5:30–7:00 PM at the Extraco Banks – Killeen
Address: 1002 W Central Texas Expy, Killeen, TX 76541.
Together, we’re creating a warm, inviting space where candidates like you can connect with our members and neighbors in a relaxed, low‑pressure environment.
This mixer is designed to be fun, fast‑paced, and meaningful. You’ll have a chance to:
Introduce yourself in a short, friendly way.
Answer one clear question about the seat you’re running for—in one minute, we request that you stay in this timeframe and we will have a moderator.
Bring your team along and help spread the word to our community about where you’ll be. This is a great opportunity to invite neighbors, supporters, and collaborators so more people can see you in action.
To help everything run smoothly (and keep it fun!), here’s what we’re hoping you’ll bring with you:
Please arrive by 5:15 PM so we can check you in and give you your question number and make sure you’re comfortable before the mixer begins.
Come ready with a short, clear introduction sharing who you are and the seat you’re running for. Be open and ready for your question, which will directly relate to the position you are pursuing. These questions are pulled from the voices of the people you’re serving — our members —
Plan to stay for the full event (5:30–7:00 PM) so you can hear other candidates, connect with members, and really get a feel for what’s on our community’s mind.
Be ready to answer one thoughtful question in about one minute or less—this keeps things concise and encourages authentic, real‑talk responses that connect with our community, again there will be a moderator.
Keep your tone respectful, inclusive, and human—this is about real conversation, not a formal speech.
Bring an open mind. This mixer is about connecting with the people you’re here to serve.
As we’re piloting this format for our community, we ask that you keep this idea contained and help us try it out on our own before similar duplicate events are planned nearby. This will give us space to learn and refine.
